It is a safe space where people can express their thoughts, feelings, and concerns without fear of judgment, and work towards finding solutions to their problems.

Counselors are trained to listen actively, empathize with their clients' experiences, and provide valuable insights and feedback that can help individuals overcome their difficulties and improve their well-being. The goal of counseling is to empower individuals to make positive changes in their lives, develop new coping skills, and achieve greater self-awareness and personal growth.

Through counseling, people can gain a better understanding of themselves, their relationships, and their life experiences, and develop strategies to manage stress, anxiety, depression, and other mental health issues. Counseling can be a transformative experience that helps people overcome obstacles, build resilience, and lead fulfilling lives.

  • Career counseling is a process that empowers individuals to discover their true potential and explore their career aspirations. It is a collaborative process that enables individuals to explore their unique strengths, interests, values, and personality traits, and align them with meaningful and fulfilling career options.

Through career counseling, individuals can gain a deeper understanding of their career-related goals through self-assessment and self-exploration. Career counseling can boost individuals' confidence, motivation, and resilience, and enable them to navigate the ever-changing job market with greater ease and confidence.

Career counseling can also help adolescents and emerging adults by helping them identify their occupational interests and develop specific plans to actualize their career goals, whether that is college, internships, or skilled-trade apprenticeships.

Ultimately, career counseling is about empowering individuals to take charge of their professional lives, and create a fulfilling and rewarding career path that aligns with their personal values and aspirations.

  • Yes, virtual therapy can be just as effective as in-person therapy. Over the past few years, the use of virtual therapy has become increasingly popular, and research has shown that it can be just as effective as traditional in-person therapy for a variety of mental health concerns.

Virtual therapy, which includes video or phone sessions, can offer several advantages over in-person therapy, such as convenience, accessibility, and flexibility. It can allow individuals to access therapy from the comfort of their own homes, regardless of their location or mobility. It can also eliminate the need to commute to therapy appointments, which can save time and reduce stress.

Moreover, virtual therapy can be just as effective as in-person therapy because the same therapeutic techniques and interventions can be used in both formats. For example, cognitive-behavioral therapy ( CBT) has been found to be effective in both virtual and in-person formats.

  • Gender-affirming care encompasses a range of social, psychological, behavioral, and medical interventions designed to support and affirm an individual’s gender identity when it conflicts with the gender they were assigned at birth. The interventions help transgender people align various aspects of their lives — emotional, interpersonal, and biological — with their gender identity.

Although gender-affirming care continues to face opposition, many reputable professional organizations, including the American Counseling Association, American Medical Association, American Academy of Pediatrics, and the American Psychiatric Association, recognize the significance and importance of gender-affirming care, which includes therapy. I am committed to providing vital mental health services that all trans, intersex, and non-binary individuals deserve, and I will continue to do so. I have received substantial training in and follow the best practices of gender-affirming care outlined by the World Professional Association for Transgender Health (WPATH).

Thankfully, clients in the states of California, Colorado, and Washington are protected and can access these essential services.

I am not contracted with any insurance companies as an in-network provider. I have made this decision for several reasons, but one of the most important reasons is to protect your confidentiality. However, I can offer you a superbill that you can submit to your insurance company for possible out-of-network reimbursement. Please reach out to your insurance company directly to inquire about your policy's out-of-network reimbursement options.
